Dress Code

Ballet/Tap (Age 2-5) & Ballet/Jazz (Age 4-6)

Girls
  • Light pink leotard (attached skirt is ok)
  • Light pink or skin toned convertible tights (They must be able to take their feet out of the tights)
  • Light pink or skin toned ballet shoes
  • Black tap shoes for tap or half soles for jazz/lyrical
  • Hair pulled back in a slicked, neat bun
  • No shorts or baggy clothing
Boys
  • White t-shit or tank
  • Black shorts or leggings
  • Black or white leather, full sole ballet shoes
  • Black tap shoes (non-shiny)
  • Hair pulled back, off of face and neck
  • No jeans or baggy clothing.

Jazz/Lyrical/Flexibility

Girls
  • Any tight athletic clothes: Sports bras, tank tops, leotards, biker or spandex shorts, briefs, leggings or tights
  • Tan half soles (also called lyrical shoes or pirouette shoes)
  • Hair pulled back and off of face and neck. Bun or ponytail preferred
  • No skirts, jeans or baggy clothing. The teachers need to be able to see the student’s body lines
Boys
  • Athletic/Gym clothing
  • Tan half soles (also called lyrical shoes or pirouette shoes)
  • Hair pulled back, off of face and neck

Ballet Classes

  • Intro to Ballet: Ballet pink leotard Level 1: Lavender leotard Level 2: Mulberry leotard Level 3 & 4: Red leotard Mighty Mini Co: Light Blue leotard Mini Co: Peacock leotard Junior Co: Royal Blue leotard Teen Co: Navy Blue leotard Senior Co: Black leotard. *No cut outs, stomach showing, prints or patterns on the leotards. Solid colors only. No attached skirts on the leotards.

  • Color of tights must match the color of ballet shoes. Skin toned tights & shoes are for darker complextion students only.

  • Clean Tennis Shoes. No jazz shoes or bare feet
  • Hair pulled back, off of face and neck.

Tap (Beg/Int/Adv Classes)

Girls
  • Any tight athletic clothes: Bra tops, tank tops, leotards, biker or spandex shorts, briefs, leggings or tights
  • Black, non-shiny tap shoes
  • Hair pulled back and off of face and neck. Bun or ponytail preferred
  • No skirts, jeans or baggy clothing
Boys
  • Non-baggy athletic/Gym clothing
  • Black, non-shiny tap shoes
  • Hair pulled back, off of face and neck
  • No jeans

Hippity-Hop (Age 2-5) & Hip-Hop (Age 6+)

Boys & Girls
  • Funky, fun street clothing or athletic clothing
  • Tennis Shoes. No jazz shoes or bare feet
  • Hair pulled back, off of face and neck.

Acro/Hip Hop/Tumble/Intro to Acro/Kinesiology Tools (Girls & Boys)

Boys & Girls
  • Tight, fitted athletic clothing. Nothing loose or baggy
  • Barefoot. No shoes or tights
  • Hair pulled back, off of face and neck

"No jewelry allowed for all classes and levels. Small studded earrings are acceptable. Any leg warmers and sweaters are acceptable to wear but only during the warm up period of class. Any non-pull over sweaters must be zipped up. Acro and Stretch & Conditioning classes are the only classes students are allowed to be barefoot. Intermediate and advanced girls, no inapprpriate "booty" shorts or revealing bra tops. All ballet classes must wear footed tights. Convertible tights are acceptable for students with multiple classes back to back and would like to take their feet out of their tights for an easy quick change. "Ballet Pink" is often the color used on dance websites for pink or light pink. No theatrical pink or hot pink for ballet allowed. No baggy clothing.

"No changing in between classes. If dancers are going from ballet classes straight to another genre the next hour (or vice versa), they must stay in their ballet leotard and tights. They will take their feet out of the convertible tights and change shoes if necessary. Hair stays in a bun for all other classes.
